This is a
nonfiction book about pirates. The
format of the book is to ask questions regarding pirates and then provide a
short paragraph to answer the questions.
Some of the questions involve real historical pirates, and what they are
famous for. Other questions are
about what pirates did on the ship and during their attacks. What pirates wear, what they ate and
how they became pirates is also explained. Women’s roles and babies being born at sea were also
covered. This is a fun look at
pirates and the truth behind all of the legends. The short explanations that answer each question are
full of facts and good information.
This book gives a base of information for readers to start with. The pictures go with the explanations
and will maintain the attention of younger readers.
