Perfect Escape by Jennifer Brown - OPTIONAL

Brown, Jennifer Perfect Escape, 359 pgs. Little, Brown, 2013.  Language- PG13; Mature Content- PG; Violence- G;

Kendra has always felt overshadowed by her older brother, Grayson, whose OCD forces him to live a life of carefully coordinated routines, The only way Kendra can stand out next to Grayson is to be perfect, and she has perfection down to and art--until a cheating scandal threatens her flawless reputation. Behind the wheel of her car, with Grayson asleep beside her, Kendra decides to drive away from it all--with enough distance, maybe she'll be able to figure everything out.

This was a 'deeper' book than I usually read and had more language than I would like, but I still liked it. It was a sweet story and had excellent character and emotional growth throughout. Its a great story about the love of a brother and a sister, even when the world is dark and confusing, and even if they can't see that love sometimes.

HS – OPTIONAL.  Student Reviewer: CH
