McClintock, Norah Double Cross (A Chloe & Levesque mystery), 234 p. Kane Miller, 2010. $5.99. Chloe first meets Jonah when he purposefully dumps his lunch into her lap. And that’s only the beginning of both their troubles. Jonah’s dad is in prison for murdering his wife, so Jonah and his little brother live with their aunt – and Chloe lives in his old house. For some reason, Chloe scrapes up a little sympathy for Jonah – and she can’t leave the mystery alone – even if she ends up proving to Jonah that his father is guilty. McClintock writes a good mystery – I am almost ready to add her to my holy triumvirate of teen mystery writers (Cooney, Duncan, Nixon), she just needs a larger body of work. MS – ADVISABLE.
