Even though Sally has saved Halloween Town and discovered her own lost family, she still feels insecure and carries the trauma of having been held captive and experimented on by Dr. Finkelstein. When characters, including Jack, start disappearing during storms, Sally has to find a way to protect Halloween Town. The Shadow Prince is too powerful, and Sally must enlist the aid of all her friends and the famous Night Mare. Constantly putting herself in danger and accepting help from former enemies, Sally must overcome her fears and accomplish the impossible.
"Shadow Over the Pumpkin Queen" is the third installment in the Pumpkin Queen series focused on Sally, the rag doll who married Jack. There is enough background provided that this can be read as a stand alone novel. Fans of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" will love the continuation of the story. Sally becomes a role model for all students feeling insecure and wondering if their past will always hold them back.
