Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content G; Violence: G
BUYING ADVISORY: EL, MS – ESSENTIAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
Just when you thought middle school couldn’t get any worse, three classmates discover a horrifying creature in the school hall. Thinking it is a classmate’s robot project, they fix it up enough to follow it through the boiler room door into an even creepier middle school. If Jess, Josh, and Marco can’t figure out a way to get away from the Master Dean, Mr. Scare, they might not be able to escape and they’ll be trapped, (insert evil laughter here) in the Just Beyond!
R.L. Stine makes the jump to graphic novels, hooray! Loved the art, loved the premise. R.L. Stine doesn’t disappoint. If you like his novels, you’ll be a fan of his new line of graphic novels. At just 100 pages, it left me wanting more. Should hook even the most reluctant reader.
