Looking at life through the eyes of a 12yo, everything seems a little simpler. Life may not always be easy, but there is companionship and beauty all around.
The best part of this book is that it is a real example of how you can be a poet -- or any kind of writer or artistic creator -- at any age. I thought that the poems were pretty good for a 12yo, and the illustrations were decent, too. Sharma obviously loves to write poems, and I hope that his voice continues to develop as he continues writing. I didn’t connect with and love a lot of the poems, but they aren’t bad.
