In a world ruined by pollution, the sun has disappeared,
along with the government and civilization – and they have been gone for
years. When Seph was 9, a cold-hearted
man executed his father and forced Seph to watch. Meanwhile, Avery and her twin brother have
been eking out a precarious, but relatively safe existence in a mining town. When Avery’s twin is taken be local gang,
Seph and Avery are about to meet and change each other’s lives in profound
ways.
If not for the dystopian setting, this novel could have been
just a great western patterned a bit after Sahne and a bit after the Westworld
TV series. Avery and Seph are always on the run, always, being shot at, and
unfortunately having to kill to continue on their way.
