Matson, Lynne Nil On Fire, 406 pages. Henry Holt (Macmillan), 2016. $18.
Language: R (72 swears, 0 ‘f’); Mature Content: G; Violence: PG (mild
battles).
Skye and most of the others have escaped Nil, but Paulo
stayed behind. Nil has just enough power
to open gates to restock the island, drawing in other innocents to its
lair. Skye’s connection to Nil shows her
what’s happening and she lures the others back to Nil in order to shut down the
island forever.
Yippee! A third Nil
book! I had no idea. Matson does a skillful job of bringing the
series to an end. Each book was a
well-crafted novel in its own right, an exciting, absorbing read. Congratulations to Lynne Matson for being the
master of the trilogy form, ruling it instead of being ruled by it.
HS – ADVISABLE.
