Gerber, Carol Spring Blossoms. PICTURE BOOK. Charlesbridge,
2013. $16.95. Content: G.
Spring is in the air and the plants and flowers are
blooming. Maple trees, cherry
blossoms, balsam firs, and more, are highlighted. The cover of this book is bright and appealing. The details
that are given with each plant are interesting and informative and the plant
illustrations are inviting.
The story just felt a little formulaic and it wasn’t very exciting. There wasn’t one particular thing that made me dislike the book, but I suppose the point is there wasn’t anything in particular that I loved about the book either. I think there are more engaging books for teaching about plant processes available.
