Chelsea Knot is known for being the “mouthpiece” of the
group because she is always spreading gossip. While at a party she witnesses
something so shocking she just can’t keep it to herself and the events that
happen as a result cause Chelsea to be removed from the group. She decides that
since her mouth is getting her into trouble so she takes a vow of silence to
find out who she really is and how much power words really do have.
I liked the message of the book about
realizing who your true friends are and the anti-bullying message, but it was a
ton of swear words. There’s great discussion questions at the end of the book
which would be good to use for book club or class discussion, but with the
excessive amount of swears it’s hard to recommend it.
NO, Shauna, Teacher.
