On the most important day of her life, Abby discovers that
she is an “Ord”, a person without magic.
In a family full of magic, it is hard to take. Abby’s sister, however, runs a school for Ords – a place to
keep them safe and teach them how to protect themselves in a world where Ords
might be sold or stolen and forced into unpleasant lives. One persistent pair of treasure hunters
is determined to get their hands on Abby, or any other Ord, at any price. Rubino-Bradway has written a fine piece
of classic magic that would be perfect for the younger Harry Potter crowd.
The cover is not particularly appealing or eye-catching, but hopefully one good sell to the right student will get the world out.

Funny - I loved the Ordinary Magic cover! I also loved the book as a wonderful adventure and - as many other readers and posters have pointed out elsewhere - a great parable about bigotry. One of my favorite MG reads.
