year old Marcus and his mother go on a vacation to Diamond Beach (a place his
mom has wanted to go back to for years).
The trailer park is not quite what she remembered and they, with the
help of some interesting new friends, find out vacations are not always as good
as we imagine them to be. They may
even turn into “nightmares”.
I found this book a little tame all through the
first half but then it took a turn and became a little morbid. The villain also didn’t seem to fit the
rest of the story. The plot was a
little long and drawn out but I think young people will like the magic mixed
with the modern technological solutions to problems.
