Rivers, Phoebe Saranormal: Haunted Memories, 160 p. AND
Mischief Night, 150 p. Simon and
Schuster, 2012. $6. Content: G.
Sara and her dad have moved to a new town, renting the top
of a house from Lady Azura, the local mystic. Its hard enough figuring out how to fit in anywhere new, but
even worse when you can communicate with ghosts – and there seem to be a lot of
them around Stellamar. In Haunted
Memories, Sara needs to solve a mystery surrounding a young lady her own age,
who was unjustly accused of bringing a contagious disease to town more than 50
years ago. In Mischief Night, the
whole town is getting ready for Halloween, but Sara can’t seem to join in the
fun, because she knows too much real info about the ghosts haunting
Stellamar. Plus, she has to
contend with the angry ghost hanging around Jayden, the boy she wants to get to
know so much better.
Tension,
anger and a little bit of danger.
Sara’s stories are well appropriate for readers who like a little scare,
but not buckets of horror.
