Zettel, Sarah Dust Girl, 292 p. Random House, 2012. $18. Content: G (danger, but nothing graphic).
Callie LeRoux is being buried in dust –
her mother insists on staying in their decaying, dusty home, so that when
Callie’s father can find his way back.
From where, Callie doesn’t know.
Now her mother has gone missing, and a stranger has offered he a few
clues to her true identity. With
the help a young hobo, Jack, Callie might find her family, but her destiny is
not necessarily part of the world she knows, but part of a new world – that of
the Fae.
I have to admit I do love
books about Faerie – but Zettel manages to write a good tale along with my favorite
subject. These are the darker Fae,
not the sparklies.
