Krosoczka, Jarrett J. Lunch Lady and the Mutant Mathletes, 96 pgs. Knopf Books for Young Readers, 2012. $6.99. Language- G, Mature Content- G, Violence- G.
This book is about three friends and a secret spy lunch lady. The three friends skipped a fieldtrip. As their consequence they had to join the math team. They practiced and practiced their math facts until the math bowl. They beat the champions! After being beat, the losers turned into Mutants and tried to steal the trophy. The lunch lady puts on a mask and helps the three friends to beat the mutants.
I liked this book because it had a lot of action and it was a comic book. It was easy and fun to read. The pictures were cool.
ESSENTIAL. EL (K-3). Student Reviewed: JL- age 9.
