Lindaman, Jane Zip It Illustrated by Nancy Carlson Carolrhoda Books, 2012. $16.95 PICTURE BOOK Content: PG.
A boy and his father run errands around town, and the whole time the father’s zipper is down. The boy tries to tell his dad, but he is too busy and he embarrasses himself in front of a few people before the son announces over the intercom at the grocery store that his dad needs to zip up his pants. The entire book is choppy and confusing, with frumpy illustrations. The storyline is uncomfortable and weird and when the end finally comes and the son tells his father that his pants are unzipped it is not stated clearly, just like the rest of the book.
