How Many People Traveled the Oregon Trail? by Miriam Aronin-ESSENTIAL

Aronin, Miriam, How Many People Traveled the Oregon Trail? Lerner Publishing Company, 2012. pgs. 48. NON-FICTION.

How many people were on the Oregon Trail? What kind of challenges, illnesses, and maladies did they face? This book answers these questions and more.

Another excellent Primary Source book. There are excellent maps, technology tie-ins, paintings, photographs of where the places are in modern-day. Instead of an annoying at the end-of-the-book glossary, you’ll find words highlighted in boxes throughout the text and their definitions found in the margins. There are additional notes and questions as well in the text that make the reader think. The best part of all, however, is the excellent new common core tie-in at the end of the book. There you’ll find essay questions to help the students piece it all back together. This book is an essential for any school or public library collection. EL (4-6), MS. ESSENTIAL.
