Creature Files: Predators by L.J. Tracosas - OPTIONAL

Tracosas, L.J. Creature Files: Predators PICTURE BOOK Becker and Mayer! (Quarto), 2017. $15. Content: G.

Twenty different predators are highlighted in this informational read.  The first few pages explain how the planet has many different animal predators and the ways they use their claws to hunt prey.  Then each page spread is a different animal with a picture of their location on the map, their size, a paragraph explaining more about the animal and a paragraph explaining their claws.  Some of the animals include big cats, birds, bears, alligators and komodo dragons.

I enjoyed the facts in this book and the bright colorful photographs of the animals and their claws.  The information was organized in an easy to find format with highlights that make the animals interesting.  My only issue with this book is that it comes with a set of fake claws on a necklace which gives it a thick and bulky front cover, so I’m not sure if the binding would hold up with multiple use.  Great facts and pictures, but the cover makes it lose it’s appeal for libraries.
