Another Way to Climb a Tree by Liz Garton Scanlon- ADVISABLE

-->
Scanlon, Liz Garton. Another Way to Climb a Tree, PICTURE BOOK. Roaring Book Press, 2017.

Lulu climbs trees constantly. She climbs the tallest, most challenging trees. But when she gets sick, the trees miss her and she misses the trees so much. She gets jealous of the sun and the moon because they get to play in the leaves, while she doesn’t. When she turns her back on the window so she can’t see the trees anymore, she notices one on her wall. The shadow of the one through her window. She hops onto her bed and stretches up, up to touch the branches and make her way through.

I love the illustrations in this book. Hadley Hooper has done other books that I’ve loved and I’ve been very impressed every time. There’s such a beautiful, detailed quality to them. Little explorers will relate to this story, as well as anyone stuck inside, sick, ready to get out.
