He can’t get any rest with all their hammering, sawing, mixing, and popping. He decides to stick his head in the mud so he can sleep, just as the other animals are revealing a surprise birthday celebration just for him. This is an early reader book with emphasis on sound and animal words. It’s done well enough considering that early reader books can sometimes be dull. PRE-K, EL (K-3)- OPTIONAL.
