Stephen was born invisible and has been alone
for the last year since his mother has passed, so imagine his surprise when his
new neighbor, Elizabeth can seem him.
They get to know each other and consider themselves dating, all before
Elizabeth even finds out that she is the only person who can see Stephen. Eventually the two of them begin to search
for an answer to Stephen’s invisibility taking them into a world of Spell
Casters and Curse Casters. What started
as Stephen’s problem quickly becomes Elizabeth’s.
Exploring what it would mean to be
invisible is interesting and these two authors create great characters. The perspective jumps back and forth between
Stephen and Elizabeth, which is mostly good, but sometimes there is repetition
of events, making me impatient for more action. I was disappointed in the ending
and felt like the details of the Spell and Curse Casters made a slow storyline
and didn’t help solve anything. Overall,
I got to the end of the book and was disappointed and frustrated that
such good characters would have such a boring story. MS, HS-OPTIONAL. Reviewer, C. Peterson.
