For students of politics, the name of Joe McCarthy resonates through the halls of history in American government. Because his story is so recent you may think it would be difficult to give his story a fair view, but Giblin does just that. His narrative style of biography makes for a book that is easily accessible to students and to serious historians. The material is weighty enough that it is most valuable at the high school level, especially for AP or IB classes doing high quality research. HS - OPTIONAL.
