Laurie has never had a friend until Dickie moves in down the street and they're inseparable until Dickie gets polio. Dickie is visited by Laurie and asks her to tell a story. That story is the story about a giant-slayer.
I absolutely loved reading this book. The Giant-Slayer has action and surprises at every turn of it's pages. The story of the real battle against polio and the fictional battle against giants is a great story for everyone to read and learn from.
