Wishful Thinking by Alexandra Bullen

Bullen, Alexandra Wishful Thinking, 256 p. Point (Scholastic), 2011.  $17.99.  Content: G.  Hazel has always felt unanchored and underloved.  When she receives three beautiful dresses, each that comes with a wish, her only thought is that she wants to know her mother.  Now she finds herself transported across the country and back in time – to where she can get to know her mother – Rosanna Scott, an artist.  Instead, Hazel finds most of her time occupied by orders from the thoroughly irritating Jamie, who seems bent on making Hazel’s life miserable.  Hazel will have to learn a hard truth about herself before she can ever be happy with what she learns about her birth mother.  Bullen has written a beautiful companion to her first Wish book.  And there is no need to have read the first book to understand everything.  MS, HS – ADVISABLE.
