On The Day, 13 Icons descended
to Earth, each landing in a great Earth City. First they snuffed the electricity, then they snuffed
the lives – all of them. Except,
one little girl – Doloria. For 15
years she has lived in the Grass in a tiny mission run by the Padre who saved
her, along with her best friend, Ro.
The pair have one small things in common – Dol has one small dot on her
wrist, while Ro has two dots in the same place. The day they discover another teen with similar dots is the
day that their lives, and the entire world, change forever – again.
While there is plenty of action in
Stohl’s first published solo effort, this story is much more character driven
than most of its ilk. It has a
love quadrilateral which I found to be written awkwardly, but ultimately it
didn’t distract from the overarching story. This is definitely a beginning of a series and I am very
interested in seeing where it is headed.
