Theodosia Throckmorton is no average girl. She spends most of her time at her parent’s museum, removing curses from artifacts. Her special talent for recognizing Egyptian curses and magic has come in handy in the past (Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos, 2007, and Theodosia and the Staff of Osiris, 2008). She goes with her friend Sticky Will to see an Egyptian magician, Awi Bubu, perform. She senses immediately that there is more to him than meets the eye. Theodosia’s younger brother Henry is back from school for the Easter Holidays and is constantly underfoot. He breaks an artifact and they discover that it was really a cover for the Emerald Tablet. Secret societies from all over London try to get a hold of the Emerald Tablet, including Awi Bubu. Who can Theodosia trust? Libraries looking for a strong, smart, female protagonist need not look further. The action and adventure should appeal to boys as well. Read the series in order.
