The Pet Shop Revolution by Ana Juan - ESSENTIAL

Juan, Ana The Pet Shop Revolution.  Arthur A. Levine (Scholastic), 2011.  $17.   Content: G.  PICTURE BOOK.

Mr. Walnut owned the saddest pet shop in Mina’s town.  When Mina’s pet bunny disappears, she finds a way to sneak into the shop – freeing the trapped animals, along with her bunny.  But the story doesn’t stop there – I will let you discover it for yourself.

The whole thing is quite absurd – but the illustratons and story are just so fun to read, you will probably forgive the absurdity, as I did.  I want some of Mr. Winter’s creations for myself!  And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the art work!
