Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

Matson, Morgan Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour, 352 pgs. Simon & Schuster, 2010. Language- PG-13 (15 swears, 6 “f”), Sexual Content- PG-13; Violence- PG; After Amy Curry’s father dies in a car accident  and her brother is sent to rehab, her mother wishes to start a new life in Connecticut. With her already on the other side of the country, Amy’s mother sends her on the road trip to Connecticut with a college guy named Roger, an old family friend. I enjoyed this book very much the whole way through. I was able to make many connections to real life and learned things I’d never known about the 50 states in the US. The addition of some romance and humor made this book a satisfying read. MS-HS-ESSENTIAL. Reviewer: A.W.
