Heriot’s visions are just a precursor to many more powers that are to come to him as the Magician of Hoad. In order to grow into his powers, however, he must survive the machinations of a King, a Hero and three princes. His journey will last more than a decade and involve many people for support, including Cayley, an orphan from the streets and a band of Travelers.
While the narrative at first seems disjointed, it is, instead, revealing the pieces of the puzzle that is Heriot. Mature fantasy readers will enjoy the journey, but it is not for the casual reader.
