Blade: Playing Dead by Tim Bowler

Bowler, Tim Blade: Playing Dead, 231 p. Philomel (Penguin), 2009. $16.99. Language: PG-13 (30+ swears, no “f”); Violence: R (lots of beatings and off page murder). For three years, Blade has managed to stay invisible and avoid the thugs that want him more dead than alive. The day he meets up with a teen and a little girl, however, may be the beginning of the end for Blade. He is in a race for his life through English city streets – and his is not the only life on the line. The tension is palpable and anyone who starts this book will not be able to stop! HS – ESSENTIAL.
