Vic gets lost in her art—which is why she didn’t hear the cop pulling up. Getting caught doing graffiti leads to community service with other teens who have been picked up for the same crime of defacement. None of them want to be there, but maybe Vic and the other troubled teens will learn something about themselves.
Everyone goes through a period of self-discovery, and Vic’s story helps illustrate important points on that journey: get out of your comfort zone to try something new and look for those who are standing in your corner because you are not as alone as you might feel. I enjoyed reading Vic’s progress, and I appreciate the reality that everything is not perfect at what might look like the end. The journey keeps on going, and we keep on learning.
