This book tells the story of Walt Disney from
his childhood through to his death. The
book concentrates mostly on Walt’s artistic skills and his business adventures
and doesn’t give a lot of personal stories.
Walt’s brother Roy helped Walt accomplish his dreams, even when it
seemed crazy-such as making an amusement park.
Walt’s attention to detail and passion for movies started one of the
most loved production companies in the world.
I wanted to love this book, but I was disappointed that there wasn’t more
about Walt’s personal life. It was
interesting to read about his successes as an artist and I loved that his brother
Roy was such a huge support, but I felt like this was just a basic timeline of the Disney business filled in with little summaries. I’m not
sure this book could hold young readers attention.
