A little group
of mice travel at night to a pumpkin patch to celebrate Halloween. They are all
dressed up and just as they start to party –a cat shows up. By working together
creatively the mice come up with a plan to scare off the cat.
This is a fun suspenseful
read for beginning readers. Although this is a reprint, the artwork is still
fresh and fun. The story is really cute, and I appreciate the mice being so
innovative and brave. Students will love to participate with the italicized sound
portions of the story. They will also love the surprise ending, and trying it
out themselves!
