Taken

McClintock, Norah Taken, 165 p. Orca, 2009.  $12.95.  Language: PG (2 swears, 0 “f”); Sexual Content: G; Violence, PG-13.  This book is about a girl named Stephanie, who gets taken, but is lucky enough to escape.  She then has to fight her way through the forest to get back home.  She has some skills from her grandfather that assist her.  Takes in a fast paced, fairly enjoyable book can be read by teens.  It has adventure and suspense mixed with the drama of family struggles.  The writing style isn’t the best and the end feels as if McClintovk was in a hurry to finish it as it is missing the quality of the beginning.  HS – OPTIONAL.  Reviewer: BMN.
