Macy is 29 When Macy was little her mom died, leaving the instruction that if life ever got too heavy in their little city house, Macy and her dad were to find a nice relaxing weekend house to get away to. Eventually, that time came and the two got a nice house with even nicer neighbors! The Petropoulos's had the loud, rowdy kind of family that Macy always wanted and through her time there and her friendship with one of the boys, Elliot, she becomes a part of their family. But that kind of happiness always has its end, and, fast forward, Macy is a pediatric resident who has moved on from the past. Or at least she thinks she has. When Macy accidentally runs into Elliot in a coffee shop, she will be forced to reevaluate the way her life is and the way she wants it. She will have to deal with both her past tragedies and her annoyingly undying love for Elliot.

This book was fine. Another TikTok recommendation, I read it in just a few days and it did manage to make me cry which I think is a good sign of storytelling, but I wasn't overly impressed with the writing or the characters. They were developed just fine, but they just came off to me as lusty the whole time. Both as kids and adults, the majority of their time was spent thinking and talking about sex and other sexual topics which contributed to the Mature Rating. This book is definitely more adult than YA.
Macy is half Brazilian and half Danish. Elliot is white. Sean is Asian.
