June and Day are on good terms with the Republic, and believe in the leadership of Anden. As the Republic tries to secure its peace against the Colonies, June and Day try to unite the people and help Anden strengthen his position against his own senators. When the Colonies accuse the Republic of contaminating their people with a plague, they threaten war. June and Day may have the key to the antidote, but it could cost them everything they have been fighting for.
I loved this series. It’s a good dystopian adventure without the depressing heaviness of series like Divergent and Hunger Games. The ending to the world crisis is satisfying, but the ending for the characters is implied which I would have like that tied up better. The characters are fantastic, and the action is well paced. The content includes off page sex, war violence, and other forms of violence.
