Siblings, Jessie and Evan Treski
have waged a lemonade war, sought justice in a class trial, and uncovered a
bell thief. There is one thing they disagree on, however, and that’s privacy.
Evan wants his deepest thoughts and poems to stay a secret, but Jessie is
unable to respect his desire for privacy. When a person starts anonymously
leaving candy heart in people’s desk, Jessie is determined to uncover who it
is, but Evan doesn’t want her to. Will the two siblings find a happy medium? Who
is sending the Valentine’s hearts?
Although the character Jessie is
a little unbelievable, he character experiences growth by the end of the novel.
Other characters are likable and engaging. Although the ending is a little
depressing, readers will enjoy the engaging plot and the mysteries behind the
book. Readers who have read and enjoyed the first three books in the series as
well as like reading realistic fiction and sibling stories will enjoy reading
this book. EL. OPTIONAL. Reviewer: Kira M, Youth Services Librarian, WHI Public
