Rinaldi, Ann The Family Greene, 241 p. Harcourt, 2010. Content: PG. Cornelia’s mother, Caty Greene, wife of Nathaniel Greene, George Washington’s second in command, can’t seem to avoid scandal. She says she is only a flirt, using one of her womanly powers, but society is sure that she has done much more than that. And after Mr. Greene’s passing, the rumors only get worse, especially as two different men seem to be very involved in Caty’s life. Cornelia has questions of her own – include the true identity of her own father. Instead of really being a book about an important episode in history, while these people may be famous, I don’t have any need to know this part of their story. If you are buying rich books to support a strong historical fiction collection, this is not that book. If you want a book riddled with scandal, then there you go. MS –OPTIONAL. Cindy, Library Teacher
