Paratore, Coleen Murtagh Kip Campbell’s Gift, 145 p. Simon and Schuster, 2009. Content: G. Kip Campbell doesn’t always like being in the family business – the mortuary – but more so now that he can hear the dead. Then, the mother of one of his tormentors dies and wants him to pass on a message to her son. No way! Add to that anxiety over the possibility that their family might lose their business and Kip has way too much worry for a teen. I really like Kip Campbell and I think boys would too, but the covers are way too girly. I hope when these go to paperback that they rethink the whole cover thing. EL, MS – OPTIONAL.
