Ryanna is a 12yo girl from Los Angeles who lost her mother when she was three. She has had no involvement with her mother's family and is surprised when her father receives a letter from them. She is invited to spend the summer with her grandparents who live in a place that used to be a summer camp. Ryanna finds a treasure map left by her mother and spends her summer trying to find the treasure and getting to know her family.
I fell in love with this book! As you read, you get to experience the carefree days of living at a summer camp and spending time with family. The mystery part of the book kept my attention. Definitely worth reading! Ryanna is presumed white. Some of her cousins are Asian and Black.
