BUYING ADVISORY: MS - ESSENTIAL

AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH

Binti has been offered a place at the premier intergalactic university, but she had to run away in order to have the chance.  She made her first friends during the journey, but when the Meduse attack, everyone except Binti and the pilot is killed.  Something about Binti’s heritage has protected her and over the rest of the journey she comes to an uneasy truce with her captors, finally understanding why they earned their viscious reputation.  Now that she understands, can she make the rest of the galaxy understand before they are all killed instead?

Binti’s story was way too short!  I was listening to the audiobook and shocked when it ended, because I wanted more. Thankfully I found out there are two more books to Binti’s story.  Okorafor has created an excellent space-based world with roots in African lore.
