Jay Barton feels the most at home among
horses. Jay lives with her uncle and
cousin, but doesn’t feel accepted as family.
When Jay overhears her cousin gossiping about her, Jay runs away and
gets a job at a racing stable. Jay falls
in love with a misbehaving horse named Manhattan and tries to work hard and be
accepted by the trainer at the stable, but she has to deal with her
manipulative uncle and mean co-workers.
This
is a good read for horse lovers.
Although the content is PG, Jay works in a sexist environment and there
is a bully. I liked how Jay worked hard
and was courageous. She is an easy character to get behind. Quick interesting read.
