A nice novel for beginning fantasy readers While the end resolution was obvious to me, I don’t think it will be as obvious for younger readers.

I just saw the latest cover concept for this book - I am NOT impressed. Though it catches Sage's sullenness and reluctance, he looks thoroughly repugnant, rather than tough-buy intriguing. UGH! So sorry, because this cover could really wreck the chances for kids to want to rad the book. --Cindy
