Princess For Hire by Lindsey Leavitt

Leavitt, Lindsey Princess For Hire, 239 p. Disney/Hyperion, 2010.  $16.99.  Content: G.  Desi Bascomb, 13, is at the bottom of the social pile in her town, ever since her best friend turned her back on Desi.  Now Desi is stuck in a gopher costume, handing out coupons for the local pet store.  Until one day she makes an odd-ball wish, finds herself at the bottom of a dunking booth and then is whisked away to become a stand in for princesses all around the world.  Of course, the definition of a princess is termed a little loosely, but Desi will either be changed forever, or her mind will be wiped and she’ll be back to the same, old, bottm-feeder Desi.  Pink is the prefect cover color for this fun book – a great middle reader title.  Girls who look for books with pink covers and a little bit of magic will be delighted with this find.  MS – ADVISABLE.  Cindy, Library-Teacher
