The female anglerfish starts her life at the top of the Atlantic Ocean, gradually growing and swimming down and down to lightless depths where she will collect food using her glowing lure. Eventually a little male anglerfish will join her and the cycle will start again.

A beautiful and absorbing look at the anglerfish. Not only does the foundation text reveal intriguing facts, the pages of back matter are equally informative. I can’t believe this is the author’s first book. I am looking forward to several more about equally intriguing characters.
