Amani has risen to a position of leadership among
the rebels, so it becomes her job to find their kidnapped prince. Amani uses her Demdji powers and her close
knit friends to figure out how to find the location of the missing prince in a
town that is not on the maps. Amani and
her boyfriend, Jin, have to decide if their relationship is going to outlast
the rebellion or if they will have to sacrifice everything in order for their
land to have peace.
Hamilton weaves an
intriguing story and develops the characters and settings, so that it kept my attention. As a final book in the series, it had a lot
of different characters to keep track of, but a few of the minor characters are just
as endearing as the main characters. This book had more mature content that the other two in the series and I felt like it was a little slower paced. If
you have readers who enjoy series and a bit of magic and romance, this series
is a satisfying and compelling read. The
content includes battle violence, descriptive off page sex and death.
