Lavinia has been shunned by her mother ever since her two brothers died after a terrible sickness. As Lavinia comes of marrying age, men from all over come to win her father's trust and ask for her hand. Her mother wants desperately for her to marry Turnus, her cousin from the neighboring kingdom, but as Lavinia falls for another, more powerful king, a war breaks out. Who will come out on top and claim Lavinia's hand in marriage?
This book was OK. It had a lot of names that were hard to pronounce, and it was harder to get into than some books. I liked how she was such a courageous young girl and fought for what she knew was right, even though the ending was pretty sad. Some of the book was confusing, and I probably would have stopped reading it if I had just picked it up to read it.
