Ellie is midway through 8th grade, next year will be high school! Bert has decided to apply to a science academy for high school, and Ellie is upset. Not just because they are such great friends, but suddenly she feels different about Bert, she likes him likes him.

I love this series, Ellie is in a wheelchair, but it isn't the main storyline. Book 3 is poignant as Grandpa's Alzheimers is progressing and Ellie thinks the best plan is to bring him home - her stepdad has already made the trailer home accessible for her - he can make is perfect for Grandpa too. I loved the letters to bakers, I would love to make some of the recipes. Ellie has cerebral palsy and is white.
