Me, Me, Me by Annika Dunklee - ADVISABLE

Dunklee, Annika. Me, Me, Me, illustrated by Lori Joy Smith. PICTURE BOOK. Kids Can Press, 2017. $16.99.

Annie, Lillemor, and Lilianne are best friends who start off with the idea to enter their school’s talent show as an all-girl group. Annie decides that because joining the talent show was her idea she gets to make all the decisions. Her bossy behavior upsets her friends and results in her leaving the group. Annie realizes working without her friends isn’t as successful or fun, and knows what she has to do—apologize.

This book is a cute story about the power of working together and coming to agreements as a group. The illustrations are cheery and colorful and both the text and illustrations are great at portraying how friends can have many differences but still work together, make decisions that everyone agrees upon and achieve success.
