Good Morning to Me by Lita Judge -- ADVISABLE
Beatrix the parrot tries so hard to be good, but it's almost impossible. How is an excited bird supposed to whisper instead of squawk? And why should she fly slowly when she can go fast? In fact, why should she fly at all when she can ride the family dog around instead? Good thing Beatrix has her friend Mouse to rescue her whenever she gets into trouble.
This is a cute story about a lively parrot, and it has colorful illustrations to match. Many students will relate to Beatrix's issues with volume control as well as her inability to sit still for very long.
